Most of us are chronically under-supported, stressed and overstimulated. If you're struggling, you're not alone. Whether it’s stress, burnout, anxiety, or depression — please know there is help. Talk to someone you trust. Reach out to a coach, therapist, or doctor. You’re not meant to carry it all alone. You can book a call with me here if you'd like support from someone who's been there too.
While coaching or therapy, and medical support are important, what we do daily also really matters, more than most people realise. That’s where natural tools come in. Let’s be clear: a drop of essential oils won’t “fix” your mental health, however, they can absolutely help. They’ve supported me in feeling grounded, alert, comforted, and more emotionally balanced — and I’m not the only one. Smelling orange peel, peppermint tea, or rosemary from the garden has an effect. Some people hug trees, some apply the tree oil for a specific effect. These oils are just that — concentrated and consistent plant life force.
Essential oils can:
Regulate stress response
Calm the nervous system
Improve mood and emotional resilience
Enhance sleep, clarity, and rest
💡 How to Use Essential Oils for Mental Health✨ Simple Daily Practices:
Diffuse calming oils & blends like lavender, bergamot, vetiver or Balance in the morning or evening
Apply oils to pulse points (wrists, neck, chest) diluted with a carrier oil
Inhale deeply from your palms when overwhelmed — lavender + orange is a beautiful combo
Create a wind-down ritual with vetiver, frankincense, or cedarwood before bed
Keep oils on hand — in your bag, at your desk, in your car — so support is always accessible

🌍 Why This Is So Important We are living through an epidemic of mental health challenges — and while some still dismiss it as a modern overreaction, the truth is: our lives have changed rapidly, and our biology hasn’t caught up. We are starved of real connection, natural light, rest, movement, and meaning. We’re overwhelmed by notifications and numbed by the next “quick fix.” That’s why what we do at home — daily, consistently — matters.
🌿 Let’s be clear: essential oils are not a cure. But they can help — deeply and consistently — as part of a holistic approach. They’ve helped me feel more grounded, alert, comforted, and upbeat in times of struggle. Think about how smelling a fresh orange, wild rosemary, or your morning peppermint tea lifts you. Now imagine that effect — concentrated and consistent.
Studies show essential oils can:
Calm the nervous system
Reduce physiological symptoms of anxiety
Improve emotional regulation and mood stability
You don’t need a prescription — just a little knowledge, a diffuser, and the willingness to try.

We are in the midst of an epidemic of mental health challenges and although some people seem to dismiss it is as just an excuse of a whimpy generation, we seem to have pretty clear cause and effect, and research to back it up. Times have changed fast. Technology has transformed our existence and although most of us are aware of this we still live in a very unconnected way. We are literally starved of what we need and Let’s be clear: this isn’t about pretending essential oils will “fix” your mental health. They can however absolutely help support wellness in this area, with a multi faceted approach they can be even more powerful — and they’ve helped me feel alert, grounded, upbeat and comforted in times of struggle. Think of how smelling a freshly cut orange, or some fresh cut herbs or drinking a peppermint tea can instantly boost your mood.
Whether you’re dealing with day-to-day stress, that tight-in-the-chest anxious feeling, or the kind of low mood that makes even brushing your teeth feel like a win — you’re not alone. And while therapy, medication, and serious support can also be worth considering, so does what you do at home.
Essential oils can calm your nervous system, improve emotional regulation, and (according to actual studies) reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. The best part? You don’t need a prescription — just a diffuser, some consistency, and maybe a few deep breaths.
Let’s get into the how, the why, and the “wait, there’s real science behind this?”
